Saturday and Sunday, Feb 25th and 26th – Bixi has been in foster care in Alabama and is now headed to her foster/possible adopt home in Kansas. This was an extremely long transport and ABMR would like to thank everyone who worked so diligently and professionally to get this girl home. Thank you to foster Connie Penn, Coordinator CJ Landry, drivers Jim Hayward, Andrea Ross, Linda Allen, Sarah Karafa, Gary Hettler, Debra Newbolds, Mary Brady, Shelby Vohsen, Stacey Caraway and new Dad Nick Bylsma. A very special thanks to Shelby who drove 2 Malinois eastbound into St. Louis earlier on Saturday and waited 8+ hours to meet up with Bixi coming into St. Louis and then return to Columbia. This was an excellent transport with great communication and superb handling for Ms Bixi, who began the journey very stressed but relaxed more and more as the day continued, although she rode most of the way standing up, looking out the window. We wish her wonderful adventures!!! Thank you!

We would like to thank Katia’s wonderful drivers for making this trip possible for her. We went right down to the wire on Friday before all legs were either filled or absorbed by current drivers. Thank you to Kelly Gallagher, Carol Van Rienen, Mark Musser, Michaela Hruskova, Anka Andrews and Richard Ball, Sara Longenberger (and her little co-pilot), Cheryl Barton, Lee and Lyn Nelson and Lisa Doan.
We would also like to thank Renee Dumont and the staff at Faxon for contacting ABMR and for working with us to get Katia into rescue.

It was a very long day for all involved, departing Fall River around 8:30 a.m. and not getting home until the very wee hours of Sunday morning… AWESOME team, AWESOME Malinois!

Saturday – July 2, 2016 – Izzy is a male Malinois pulled from a shelter situation in the Michigan area by another rescue who then got in touch with ABMR. He received sorely needed medical attention through the efforts of the rescue who pulled him and was then delivered to Robin Barfoot, who was his short-term foster in Michigan. He is now headed to his foster home in Alabama with Hillary Sansone.

Thank you to drivers Kari MacPherson (Kari is with the other rescue and provided medical assistance, transport, etc), Doug Haskell, Sue Walker, Melissa Moerland, Linda Allen, Susan Wilkinson, Linda Askey and Hillary Sansone. This was a 2-day run that, by Thursday, became pretty evident that we were not going to be able to fill it, so through the efforts of our drivers who stretched out and accommodated time changes, we changed to a 1-day run and Izzy made it all the way on Saturday. AWESOME!!!

Izzy is a real sweetheart/wild-child and should be up on the website, searching for his forever home, very shortly. As you can see, he has the Belgian Flip gene. Thank you all so much for making this happen for Izzy. His first years were not good ones and he came into rescue with allergies and skin conditions that are now on the mend and he is feeling sooooo much better.

April 16 and 17, 2016 – Sandee is headed from intake in southern Florida, to her foster home in Pennsylvania. Earlier in the week she was transported from southern Florida up to Kingsland GA to be in a better position for the ride north and so it could be accomplished in 2 days. A big thank you to Coordinators Angela Maddux and Cindy Richard, and huge thanks to Kelli Cristin Gavaghan who drove Sandee a whopping 265 miles from Jupiter to Jacksonville. Sandee is a 6 year old spayed female who obviously loves car rides and people.

Heartfelt thanks go out to Coordinators and drivers Cindy Richard and Angela Maddux, drivers Cheryl Nelson, Becky Baker and Debbie Keebler, Sue and Dennis Card, Russ Raniszewski, Barbara Bozeman, Hazel and Gerry Michael, Susan and Jim Hynes, Claibourne Jackson, Sharon Mangus, Jennifer Loach who overnighted on Saturday and drove to PA on Sunday to meet foster family Kim and Curt Zellers. I think Sandee also had another driver coming up from Florida to GA and will add that name in the future. We had some new drivers on this run (welcome!), some drivers who have been transporting for years, and some who drove the weekend before. An absolutely marvelous group of volunteers who handled Sandee with affection, care and experience. AWESOME TEAM!
